This Song is written about the years I spent working in a factory on the industrial estate. It was cyclic and robotic and dangerous, but the hardest thing about it was that after two and a half years of doing that job, NOTHING was different. The day still looked and smelt exactly the same, the people and conversations were the same and in that seemingly unbreakable routine, it felt like I was hearing life itself drift past on the motorway. The effect that job, and others like it, had on me was quite profound and I dedicate this to anyone stuck in a situation like that.
